Dr. Young Cho Chi is a business executive who has handled both strategy and operations at multinational companies in Korea and overseas. While serving as Executive Vice President at Samsung Electronics, he contributed to Samsung Electronics achieving $200B in revenue.

As head of Samsung Electronics' planning team for the past 9 years, Dr. Young Cho Chi was responsible for Samsung Electronics' overall corporate strategy, including new business, M&A, platforms and services, and industry innovation-related issues. Prior to Samsung Electronics, he served as Managing Partner of Accenture's mobile business division in the Asia-Pacific region. He also served as a Board Member of Accenture's Seoul office.

At Accenture, he has 10 years of experience conducting over 100 information and communication strategy consulting projects covering the Asia-Pacific region across 8 countries, including mobile telecommunications operator marketing, R&D, 3G business strategy, and portal-related content strategy.

From 1995 for three years, he worked at McKinsey & Company's Korea and Sweden offices on strategic planning tasks including multimedia service business strategy and marketing and pricing strategies for pan-European global telecommunications service providers.

Dr. Young Cho Chi's first job was at AT&T Bell Labs in New Jersey, USA, where he worked as a senior researcher in the Software Algorithm field.

Dr. Young Cho Chi came to the United States after completing his third year in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University and obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brown University, and a PhD in Applied Mathematics. Based on 27 years of experience in the global ICT industry, Dr. Young Cho Chi serves as an advisor at SparkLabs to help the development and growth of Korean startups.
