CurioChips is a research lab spinoff from Seoul National University and a startup that replicates three-dimensional vascular structures in vitro and provides a human organ-on-a-chip platform utilizing this technology.

The preclinical stage of drug development requires animal testing, which carries not only the risk of wasted time and cost, but also the risk of inaccurate results arising from not using human cells and tissue. To overcome this, CurioChips has developed organ-on-a-chip technology that replicates human blood vessels and specific organ tissue in vitro and evaluates drug responses through vascular pathways. This technology is expected to be applicable not only in the drug development phase, but also as personalized medicine by utilizing portions of each patient's own actual tissue.
