DoubleMe was co-founded in March 2015 by Kim Hee-kwan (current CEO), Michael Kuzynski (current COO), and Kim Hee-young (current CFO), and has grown through SparkLabs Accelerator Cohort 5 and Samsung C-Lab. The company has built up immersive capture technology, developing HoloPort — a technology that enables conventional volumetric video capture with a single 3D camera and machine learning — as well as HoloScene, a real-time spatial scanning technology.
Leveraging this technology, DoubleMe has expanded globally by forging strategic partnerships with 16 global telecom operators including Telefonica, Deutsche Telekom, and Singtel. DoubleMe's metaverse service platform 'TwinWorld' was also selected as the testbed for 'HoloVerse,' a global project testing 5G mobile edge computing (MEC) network infrastructure.
Building on its immersive capture technology, DoubleMe launched the beta service of TwinWorld — a real-world metaverse service — in November 2020, acquiring global users and establishing TwinWorld spaces across 26 locations in 17 cities worldwide, creating and leading a distinct new market called the 'Real-world Metaverse.'
Recognized for its unparalleled excellence in core technologies for metaverse platform implementation, DoubleMe has raised KRW 30 billion in investment starting from Series A in 2022, and has been highly evaluated for its growth potential, including signing listing management agreements with NH Investment & Securities and Hanwha Investment & Securities. The company continues to pursue various projects with domestic and international enterprises and institutions.
