H2O Hospitality

Asia's No. 1 hospitality tech company leading digital transformation in the accommodation and leisure industry

H2O Hospitality is Asia's leading tech-based hospitality operations company, driving the digital transformation of the accommodation and leisure industry — including hotels and resorts. CEO Lee Woong-hee, who previously operated the home cleaning service 'Wahome' in Korea, pivoted the business to enter the global market. With the goal of organically connecting every step from booking to checkout — previously fragmented and inefficient — through a single click, H2O provides smart check-in and check-out, 100% automated reservations, efficient data control, and D2C expansion services, revolutionizing the operational flow and value chain of accommodation and leisure facilities.

The first overseas market H2O entered was Japan, where accommodation revenue alone reaches approximately KRW 90 trillion — roughly ten times that of Korea. H2O entered the Japanese market in January 2017 by acquiring 'Housecare,' a local company connecting cleaning helpers to Airbnb and other short-term rental properties. Targeting a full transformation of the hospitality value chain — from housekeeping and room management to revenue management and reservation management — H2O subsequently acquired 'HospO Alliance,' an online accommodation booking and revenue management system provider, officially marking the start of H2O's full-scale operations. H2O now supplies its services to over 20,000 rooms in Japan and has grown into the largest B2B property management company in the Tokyo area, backed by a track record of managing more than 5,000 staff — particularly notable given Japan's severe labor shortage. Despite the accommodation market downturn caused by COVID-19, H2O has recorded revenue growth of more than twofold since 2021 and is poised to achieve its best-ever results since entering Japan, alongside the recovery of Japan's tourism industry in 2023.

Following its entry into Japan, H2O has continued its rapid growth by establishing legal entities in Thailand in 2020, Singapore in 2021, and Saudi Arabia in 2022. In March 2023, it became the first Korean tourism company to sign an MOU with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Investment for cooperation on market entry, officially launching its full-scale push into the Middle East. It has also opened a regional office in the UAE to oversee its Middle East and European operations.

H2O currently operates a cumulative total of 40,000 rooms across 34 major cities worldwide. Recognized for its unparalleled technological capabilities, the company was selected by Forbes Asia as one of the 100 companies to watch in 2021, and became the first in Asia to successfully integrate with Oracle OPERA.

H2O's total cumulative investment stands at approximately KRW 48 billion, with major investors including Kakao Investment, KDB Industrial Bank, and Samsung Venture Investment.
