Agriculture
Agri-food tech company providing vertical farm solutions and farm operation systems powered by IoT and cloud computing technology

Founded in January 2014, N.Thing is a global agri-food tech startup driving innovation in the agricultural food sector and food value chain by integrating IT and data. It leads the agri-food tech market through the power of IT and data, with the further ambition of transforming the global food value chain.

N.Thing unveiled the world's first modular smart farm 'CUBE,' built on IoT and cloud computing technology, enabling organic interconnection between units. The standardized farm 'CUBE' allows additional modules to be continuously added once a single unit's production testing is complete. N.Thing has also independently secured all essential operational technologies and developed a dedicated management system to provide crop-optimized environments for water, nutrients, temperature, light, and air. Its higher production efficiency compared to open-field cultivation makes it well-suited for large-scale supply, and its business model enables mass production of high-quality crops year-round, anywhere in the world regardless of climate — offering strong export potential.

On the strength of this technology, N.Thing won the 'Best Innovation Award' in the Smart City category at 'CES 2020,' the world's largest consumer electronics and IT expo, and received the Innovation Award in the 'Sustainability, Eco-Design & Smart Energy' category at CES 2022. It currently operates smart farms in Yongin, Icheon, Andong, and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Last year, it opened 'Sikmulseong Dosan,' an indoor vertical farm showroom. The Icheon farm, which began operations in April 2022, has started supplying produce to E-Mart, a major Korean retailer, with plans to supply over 100 tons of leafy crops annually. Additionally, in August 2022, N.Thing signed a contract with KT&G to build a specialized crop cultivation facility for research purposes.
