C.J. Guinness is an investor and entrepreneur who loves people and adventure. C.J. enjoys hunting for extraordinary opportunities and partnering with hardworking people to make them happen. C.J. is the COO of UNITY, the consortium lead for an American group of companies that is developing the Central Corridor Railroad (CCR) in East Africa in order to provide efficient market access to Tanzania, DRC, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi and accelerate economic growth and social prosperity in the region.
C.J. is also a co-founder of St. James Partners, an investment and advisory firm based in New York City that invests in middle market buyouts as well as early stage and growth companies in the consumer and technology sectors. Previously, C.J. was a management consultant with McKinsey & Co. where he served in the Financial Institutions Group in New York and London. C.J. received a B.A. from the University of Virginia, a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, and is a member of the State Bar of New York. C.J. is the proud father of an Australian Shepherd named Shadow.
