CEO of Gamehi
JJ is CEO of Gamehi, a subsidiary of Nexon, which develops and operates the leading FPS (first-person shooter) game in Korea, "Sudden Attack". Gamehi is listed on KOSDAQ (041140.K). Prior to Gamehi, JJ was CEO of QPlayMG, a developer of online games and a spin‐off from Nexon. Previously he was CFO at Innotive, a rich media display technology company with clients such as BMW, Nike, CBS News, and NASA. Prior to this, he built and managed CJ Home Shopping’s ecommerce subsidiary, Mple on‐line, as its COO and acting CEO. Nine months after its launch, Mple hit over $30 million in GMV and over 3.5 million unique visitors becoming the 3rd largest ecommerce marketplace in Korea.
JJ served as CSO of Nexon, the leading online gaming company in Korea. During his tenure, Nexon’s revenues grew from $29 million to $100 million. To better position Nexon during this rapid growth period, he led the reorganization of Nexon and adopted a BSC‐based evaluation system for better accountability and project management. Prior to Nexon, JJ was Co‐founder and Director of Planning of Freechal, which was one of the most popular online communities. By 2003, Freechal had 1.8 million unique visitors per day, which was 6 times higher than CyWorld, and was acquired by Saerom Technologies. JJ started his career at Samsung Corporation.
